Universal Precision Technology is a well-established organization that specializes in the manufacturing of precision components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace, aircraft, military, medical, optical and defense sectors. We are looking to increase our diverse and dynamic team with the addition of accomplished individuals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up and run manual machines, such as mills, lathes, drill press, etc.
- De-burring parts, tap holes, saw cut material when required
- Verify dimensions of parts and tools using precision measuring instruments
- Read blue prints
- Follow procedures for non-conforming products
- Calibrate measuring equipment as required
- Follow and comply with all AS9100 REV D and ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing and quality standards, regulations, legislative and customer requirements to ensure highest standards are maintained
- Abide with instructions, regulations and safety policies (wear appropriate PPE)
- Keep machines and surrounding area clean while maintaining a safe work environment
- Any other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- 3 to 5 years’ experience, setting up and operating manual mills or lathes
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Excellent knowledge of tooling and the ability to interpret results from CMM
- Effectively communicate information with managers and other employees
- Motivated to learn and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to be cross train and cross train co-workers on other types of machinery is an asset
- Security clearance, including criminal record check
- Own steel-toe safety, CSA certified
