Universal Precision Technology is a well-established organization that specializes in the manufacturing of precision components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace, aircraft, military, medical, optical and defense sectors. We are looking to increase our diverse and dynamic team with the addition of accomplished individuals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of quality systems and leading a team
- Possess and effectively apply intellect, judgment and management skills to achieve desired business performance results
- Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Partake in audits of quality, sales, production and administration to drive process standardization and continuous improvement
- Review production / quality trends, communicate and make recommendations to president and initiate cost-effective actions
- Manage staffing demands, performance appraisals and resolve employee relation issues and conflicts
- Oversee the scheduling and completion of preventative maintenance tasks
- Follow and comply with all AS9100 REV D and ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing and quality standards, regulations, legislative and customer requirements to ensure highest standards are maintained
- Abide with instructions, regulations and safety policies (wear appropriate PPE)
- Any other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- 7 years’ experience, in the manufacturing management sector
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering is an asset
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate others
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- The proven ability to meet deadlines while under pressure and effectively handle a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
- This individual is required to have strong computer skills with the ability to use various computer applications
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Knowledge of CNC machining, EDM machining, tooling, assembly and kitting
- Effectively communicate information with other managers and other employees
- Motivated to learn and able to work independently
- Willingness to be cross train and cross train co-workers
- Security clearance, including criminal record check
- Own steel-toe safety, CSA certified
